Event Details

Machine Sewing 101 is offered in a series of TWO class sessions (both 2 1/2 hours each) on Monday, September 12 and Wednesday September 14 from 7-9:30pm. *Please make sure you can attend BOTH sessions before registering!*

The course is for people that have never used a sewing machine and are unfamiliar with any aspect of sewing. The approach is that a sewing machine is just another power tool, and fabric is just another material - each having their own particularities. Fundamental nomenclature and principles will be covered with 'classroom' and studio practical work, all under the guide of mater seamster Jim Moulton. The emphasis will be on upholstery and home decoration work, although these basics also give a good foundation for constructing garments and utility items.

ADX members are encouraged to register for this class at just $60 (includes all materials). Not yet part of ADX? Visit our membership page to get involved. Nonmembers are offered the class at $100, which includes one month of Basic Membership at ADX (please email us to schedule your date and process your class registration fee).
